Project Summary


Objectives

By implementing this project; We aim to educate individuals with good digital skills that can associate many problems with science and mathematics, especially with engineering design and have good digital skills, culturally rich and good foreign language knowledge. The main objective of our project is to increase our success rate in science and mathematics courses by 20 %in 3 years.

Activities

Our activities are:
1)Project Kick-off Meeting-Virtual
2)How to Prepare a STEM Plan -Spain
3)Smart Home Systems -Greece
4)Environmental Problem Solving (with MineCraft) -Turkey
5)Building a Nature-Friendly House with 3D Programs -Italy
In addition, many activities will be carried out locally during our project too.These activities; will be educational preparations, cultural and language preparations, and dissemination and evaluation activities.

Impact

The results we expect from our project:
* To increase the achievement of mathematics and science lessons achievements of the students in common schools,
* To ensure that our students can produce solutions to environmental and climate change problems,
* To ensure that common schools create awareness with STEM,
* Developing students' foreign language and cultural skills,
* Improving the professional knowledge and skills of teachers,
* Developing the corporate capacity of common schools.

    We are proud to be a partner in an exciting Erasmus+ project focused on STEM education, sustainability, and digital innovation. The project aims to help students develop strong skills in science, mathematics, engineering, and digital technologies, while also enhancing their foreign language abilities and cultural awareness.

    Throughout the project, students and teachers from our partner schools will take part in international mobilities and local activities, including STEM lesson planning in Spain, smart home systems in Greece, environmental problem-solving with Minecraft in Turkey, and 3D design of nature-friendly houses in Italy.

    We expect this project to have a significant impact on our school community by improving student achievements in STEM subjects, fostering creativity and problem-solving, raising awareness of environmental challenges, and enhancing teachers’ professional skills.

    This Erasmus+ project is a great opportunity for our school to connect with European partners, exchange best practices, and inspire students to become innovative, responsible, and environmentally-conscious learners.

 Minecraft Education is a virtual world game that allows students to develop their design and engineering skills. In this activity, we aimed for our students to find solutions to environmental problems in the virtual world using technological and scientific devices. For this purpose, students were formed into mixed groups and determined methods of solving environmental problems. Then, they created the solutions by coding with the Minecraft program. In addition to coding skills, our students were made aware of environmental pollution, the effects of environmental pollution on our world, producing solutions to environmental problems, and using technology to prevent environmental pollution.

Building a Nature-Friendly Houses with 3D Programs (Italy)

 It is stated that 3D design activities increase students' visual literacy and that these skills are critical for digital design, which is used in many professions today (Verner & Merksamer, 2015). Pollution caused by large multi-story buildings is rapidly becoming a major threat to our world. In this activity, our students designed a small, single-story house using the Tinkercad 3D design program, an important element of STEM, and designed a solar energy system or wind turbine that could meet the energy needs of this house.

Smart Home Systems (Greece)

Arduino ile STEM uygulamalarının kapsamlı olarak genişletildiği, Arduino'nun STEM okuyucu yazarlığı alanına hizmet ettiği, ilgi ve motivasyonunu artırdığı ve yenilik yapma ve problem çözmenin geliştirildiği görülmektedir (Wang vd., 2016). Bu etkinlikte kuracağımız Akıllı Ev Sistemi ile hem evlerimizin parasını sağladık hem de evlerde gereksiz enerji tüketimi ve israfını önleme yöntemlerini keşfettik.
