Smart Home Systems (Greece)

  1. As part of a 6-day Erasmus+ project, we participated in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) themed program in Greece. Throughout the program, we stayed in the city of Chalkida, and having the opportunity to work with students from different countries was a very positive experience. During this time, we developed various projects using Arduino Uno hardware. I gained valuable experience in both improving my technical skills and working collaboratively as part of a team.

We also had the chance to visit Athens as part of the program. Seeing the historical and cultural richness of Greece in person was truly impressive for me. Although short, this intense Erasmus experience made a significant contribution to both my personal development and my international perspective. I will carry the vision that such international projects have given me throughout my life

  2. I'm very happy to have been a part of this project, which made the year 2024 so memorable and special. I believe it has taken me a step forward both academically and in my interpersonal relationships. In this project, using Arduino Uno, we did coding and explored modern home features suitable for the Green City project. We designed sensors that help save energy and shared them with one another. Apart from its academic purpose, I can say that socializing was also very easy and we quickly warmed up to each other. In these six days, we gained a lot culturally. Our journey of discovering Greece, which started with Karababa Castle, continued with the beauties of the city of Chalkida, Drosia beach, countless museums, the streets of Athens, and ended with the fascinating atmosphere of the Acropolis.
During the Turkey journey of our project, we reunited with some friends while meeting others for the first time. And just like the last time, we quickly socialized and got along very well. Our friends had the opportunity to see Denizli, Hierapolis, Laodicea, and İzmir. We completed this week -each day more unique than the last- and created unforgettable memories. Altough they were short, I'm truly grateful for everything.

  3. In studies on STEM applications with Arduino, it is seen that Arduino serves the fields of STEM literacy, increases the
interest and motivation of students, and improves their ability to innovate and solve problems With theSmart Home System we made at this event, we both ensured the safety of our homes and prevent unnecessaryenergy consumption and waste in our homes.
We witnessed a significant improvement in students' Arduino skills. In particular, students who were experienced in using Arduino guided other students in mixed groups.
