Environmental Problem Solving - with MineCraft (Türkiye)
Minecraft Education is a virtual world game that allows students to develop their design and engineering skills. In this activity, we aimed for our students to find solutions to environmental problems in the virtual world using technological and scientific devices. For this purpose, students were formed into mixed groups and determined methods of solving environmental problems.
Then, they created the solutions by coding with the Minecraft program. In addition to coding skills, our students were made aware of environmental pollution, the effects of environmental pollution on our world, producing solutions to environmental problems, and using technology to prevent environmental pollution.

Participating in this Erasmus+ mobility focused on the use of Minecraft Education for environmental problem solving was a highly motivating and inspiring experience. The activities demonstrated how a virtual world can become a powerful educational tool to develop STEM competences, creativity, and environmental awareness at the same time.
ReplyDeleteBy working in mixed international groups, students were encouraged to analyse environmental problems, discuss possible solutions, and transform their ideas into concrete actions through coding and digital design. Minecraft Education proved to be an effective platform for engaging learners, as it allowed them to experiment, make mistakes, and collaboratively build solutions in a safe and motivating environment.
From a teaching perspective, this mobility highlighted the value of game-based and project-based learning. Students were actively involved in the learning process and developed not only coding and engineering skills, but also a deeper understanding of environmental pollution, its consequences, and the role of technology in protecting our planet.
This Erasmus+ experience enriched my professional practice by providing new methodological tools and innovative approaches that I am eager to transfer to my classroom. It also reinforced the importance of international cooperation in education, showing how shared experiences can inspire both teachers and students to become more responsible, creative, and environmentally conscious European citizens.
"The Secret of Success is Hidden in Stem" project helped me become more self-confident and broadened my horizon. Seeing other cultures and people improved me personally. And I made a new friends. It gave me an unforgettable experience.
